Where confidence grows
What's happening
At Willows Preparatory School, safeguarding is a shared responsibility and the foundation of our community. We believe that when students feel truly safe, they are free to learn, grow, and thrive. Every member of our community - from teachers and staff to volunteers, contractors, and partners - demonstrates a strong commitment to protecting each child’s wellbeing.
Through close partnerships with families and professionals, we create an environment where every child feels valued, heard, and protected, regardless of their background, ability, or identity.
We're here to support you
Mr. Rich Stearns
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
At our preparatory school in Redmond, we are committed to ensuring that every child feels secure, supported, and respected, regardless of their individual needs or circumstances.
Our robust safeguarding practices provide students with attentive, well-trained adults who identify concerns early and respond promptly, always acting in the best interests of the child.
Rigorous safer recruitment
All post holders complete rigorous vetting, including criminal background checks or equivalent covering the last 10 years of employment, ensuring only trusted adults work with our students.
Safety-focused curriculum
Students learn how to keep themselves safe through a rich, broad curriculum that addresses wellbeing, relationships, digital behavior and responsible decision-making.
Enhanced support for learners
We are dedicated to providing extra care for students who may need additional support, including those with special educational needs, disabilities, or whose individual identity, such as gender, religion, or sexual orientation, may require tailored attention.
Digital safety
We help students build safe and responsible digital habits through clear guidance, age-appropriate monitoring, and a strong culture of respect online. Willows Prep relies on digital safeguarding software to support student wellbeing and protect the school’s digital environment.
