In this brand new programme you will have the opportunity to watch your child grow their creative confidence as they dive into an enriching art framework exclusively designed by the ILOS team for students and teachers of ISP Artists. This framework will allow students to explore their creativity as they familiarise themselves with different techniques, mediums and themes. Additionally, students will participate in two live-streamed sessions facilitated by experts in the field who will support the students in developing their creative confidence.

ISP Changemakers, formerly known as ISP Futures, provides schools with tools and methodologies for developing projects focused on social impact. This will enable communities to take action to address strategic issues relevant to their group and their future.

ISP Chess Masters
Programme highlights
ISP Chess Masters grows students’ skills and teamwork by connecting them with other ISP students to play fast chess in online and in-person tournaments in local, regional and global contexts.

I love chess and having the opportunity to get better at it through tournaments is simply amazing. You can share ideas about moves and your style of playing at the same time as playing, you can play with people you don't know and all of that with no material needed, just a computer.

ISP Cultural Exchange
ISP Cultural Exchange encourages reciprocal exchange across regions where ISP schools are located. The aim is to offer students the opportunity to experience a culture different from their own through a homestay and attending another ISP school for a month.

ISP Scientists provides a unique opportunity for students to become citizen scientists and contribute to real-world STEM research projects like mapping the journey of missing plastic waste or tracking their habits to measure their environmental impact.

ISP Filmmakers
ISP Filmmakers is a multi-disciplinary project in which students learn the importance of collaboration in achieving the common goal of producing a film, its trailer and poster. It provides insights into career pathways in film and media.

Students in Grade 10 and below can demonstrate their mathematical skill in the AMC 10, a 25-question, 75-minute multiple-choice competition. The contest covers topics such as elementary algebra, basic geometry, area and volume formulas, elementary number theory, and elementary probability, while intentionally excluding trigonometry, advanced algebra, and advanced geometry. AMC 10 challenges students to think critically, work efficiently, and apply strong mathematical reasoning in a rigorous competition environment.
Students in Grades 5-8 take on the AMC 8, a 25-question, 40-minute mathematics competition designed to challenge and inspire middle school learners. The contest covers key topics including counting and probability, estimation, proportional reasoning, elementary geometry, spatial visualization, and interpreting graphs and tables.
Develop musical technique, ensemble awareness, and performance skills in a collaborative setting. Experience the creativity and energy of jazz while refining expression, rhythm, and confidence on stage. Explore and perform more complex musical repertoire while advancing musicianship on your instrument. Participate with a minimum of one year on the instrument played in ensemble and one previous year in jazz band, or by director approval.
Explore music, sound, and shared listening experiences in a collaborative and creative setting. Develop musical taste and confidence while connecting with others through audio and performance culture.

Art Walk transforms our halls into an exhibition space that celebrates the imagination, discipline, and technical skill of the Visual Arts department. The Annual Band Concert showcases the breadth and progression of our wind and percussion programs in one inspiring evening. Beginning with the energy of the middle school ensembles and culminating in the advanced repertoire of the High School Band and Advanced Jazz Band, the concert highlights musical growth, discipline, and artistry across the years.
Sharpen shooting, passing, dribbling, and defensive skills through focused practice and gameplay. Compete on boys’ and girls’ basketball teams while developing teamwork, discipline, and strategic thinking.
Students of any age can put their strategic thinking to the test in the Chess Masters Individual Tournament. This competition invites players to sharpen focus, planning, and decision-making in a high-level tournament setting. The top 20 qualifiers will advance to additional tournaments, giving students the opportunity to continue building their skills through further competitive play.
Sharpen strategic thinking, concentration, and analytical skills through friendly competition in small-group classes led by an International Grandmaster. Track individual growth, compete in practice tournaments against well-matched opponents, and gain valuable perspective through recorded live Grandmaster commentary. Unwind through coloring and creative expression in a calm, low-pressure setting. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon with calming music and good conversation while you de-stress from the week. Learn new coloring techniques as you support focus, relaxation, and mindfulness, and connect with friends in a positive, creative space. Welcome all grades to join and find their calm together.
Prepare for MathCounts, Math Is Cool, and other math competitions through focused practice and strategy-based problem solving. Tackle challenging problem sets, strengthen mathematical reasoning, and go beyond grade-level coursework while developing the precision, persistence, and confidence needed for competitive performance. Refine advanced problem-solving techniques through weekly discussion of theory, methods, and competition-style questions. Build fluency in algebraic thinking, pattern investigation, and analytical reasoning in a fun but focused environment.
Continue building your band experience in a club open to current 5th and 6th grade band students, as well as 6th graders who have previously completed a semester of band and would like to play again. Join a welcoming musical setting designed for returning young musicians, with older students also eligible to participate by contacting Mr. Ken Weller directly before signing up.
Create hands-on projects while exploring a variety of materials, techniques, and artistic styles through a new take-home craft each week. Develop patience and attention to detail in a relaxed, supportive environment while working on projects such as buttons, paracord bracelets, bleach-dye shirts, and more.

Designed for students in Grades 7-12, Career Day & Volunteer Fair connects learners with more than 20 industry professionals and 20+ local non-profits through workshops, conversations, and hands-on networking. Celebration of Learning is a flagship Willows Prep event that showcases the intellectual curiosity, creativity, and rigor that define the student experience. Through a live Gallery Walk of interactive exhibits and discipline-specific sessions, families see firsthand how students engage in STEAM-focused learning, apply design thinking, and use scientific inquiry to explore real-world challenges - including the IB Community Project, where 8th grade students explore community needs through meaningful service learning and civic engagement.

Our students venture to Camp Orkila on Orcas Island for a week of outdoor adventure and experiential learning. For Grade 8 Our eighth graders embark on the East Coast Learning Adventure, a week-long journey through Boston, New York City, and Washington, D.C. The Final House Tournament brings together Oni, Wyvern, Phoenix, and Leviathan for a thrilling conclusion to a year of academic, athletic, and spirit-based competition. With House points still on the line, House Cup is a powerful celebration of teamwork, perseverance, and school pride.
For students whose passion for performance extends far beyond the school day, the International Thespian Society of the Educational Theatre Association offers a vibrant artistic community and rich opportunities for growth. Through immersive retreats, Thespy competitions, seminars, and specialized workshops, members deepen their craft, expand their confidence, and engage more fully in the world of theater.
Grade 5 students take part in Intensive Week, an immersive four-day academic experience that blends rapid prototyping, creative collaboration, and social inquiry. Mornings are dedicated to a Board Game Design unit in which students develop original games from concept to creation, while afternoons focus on the Justice Curriculum and the history and ongoing struggle for farmworkers’ rights. Combined with expanded arts and athletics rotations, Intensive Week is a rigorous and energizing program that connects innovation with advocacy.
For Grades 9 - 12 Our students can travel to Spanish-speaking destinations such as Costa Rica, Greece, and Spain as a culminating language and cultural experience. Through guided tours, local excursions, and everyday interactions, they practice Spanish in real-world settings while exploring each destination’s history, traditions, and natural beauty. The journey builds confidence, independence, and global perspective.
For Grade 5 Our fifth graders journey to IslandWood on Bainbridge Island for an overnight exploration of the natural world. Hiking trails, conducting scientific investigations, and tackling team challenges, students deepen their understanding of ecology while building independence, confidence, and strong friendships beyond the classroom walls.
Students in Grades 4-12 can compete in the Math is Cool Championships, a Washington State mathematics competition hosted by Academics is Cool. This event challenges learners to apply their mathematical knowledge in a competitive setting while representing WPS with pride. Top-performing students may be invited to advance to the Math is Cool Masters, and schools finishing in the top 8 of their division earn the chance to move on to the next level of competition.
Middle school students build problem-solving skills and pursue mathematical excellence through Mathcounts, a national competition known for its fun, in-person, “bee”-style format. Across four levels of competition, students strengthen their reasoning, accuracy, and perseverance while engaging in a dynamic academic challenge that celebrates both achievement and a love of math.
Students can showcase their mathematical thinking in Math Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS), a national problem-solving competition designed to strengthen reasoning skills and deepen mathematical understanding. Through a series of challenging questions, students apply logic, creativity, and perseverance as they work through non-routine problems.

The road to the national stage is a multi-tiered challenge that tests grit, memory, and composure at every level. The journey begins with In-Classroom Bees, where every student has the opportunity to showcase their skills among peers, and continues with Grade-Level Playoffs, where top performers compete against the strongest spellers in their grade to narrow the field to the most elite wordsmiths.

Willows Prep’s House System is a vibrant part of student life. Every student joins one of four houses - Leviathan (blue), Wyvern (purple), Oni (green), or Phoenix (red).Each house reflects a unique identity: Wyvern, the House of Visionaries, values curiosity and innovation; Phoenix, the House of Strivers, embodies persistence and resilience; Leviathan, the House of Adventurers, encourages compassion and confident risk-taking; and Oni, the House of Advocates, promotes inclusivity and empThrough tournaments, daily activities, and shared experiences, students earn points, represent their house colors, and work together toward the annual House Cup.
At Willows Prep, students dive into a vibrant after-school program running daily from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Each experience is designed to spark curiosity, strengthen character, and help students grow beyond the classroom. For students who benefit from additional academic structure, our After-School Support Program offers focused guidance in assignment tracking, calendar management, organization, task breakdown, prioritization, and homework support.
